Gameshark Hacking & GT2 Hybrid Cars
When i bought a Gameshark Pro and began the journey into hacking ,i discovered it can be as much fun as playing the games. There are really no shortcuts to becoming a good hacker and many have different methods to find codes. I would suggest reading as many FAQ's as you can and visit some of the Gameshark sites and Ubb's. I'll cover a few things here and provide links to more in depth material and sites dealing with hacking. Practice and patience are the keys to becoming a better hacker. With all the "code types" that the shark can handle, it makes just about anything possible. It would help you to know how to count in "hex" or to have a hex calculator to do conversions.
The shark allows you to do 2 types of searches. "Known values" & "unknown values".
The "known search" option allows you to dump the whole games memory and search for the values (in decimal) that you specify. This method is very limited as to what you can find with it. You have to know what your looking for. Example: If you want to hack an infinite ammo code and there is a counter for lets say missiles. If you have 25 missles you would do your first search for values equal to 25. Go back to the game and fire 1 missle, do another search for values equal to 24. If you still have alot of possible's ,walk around or change some things in the game but don't launch a missle. Hit the shark button and do a search for 24 again because this value should not have changed.
Go back to the game and fire 2 missles and do another search for 22. Repeat this method untill you only have a few possible's left. Then you can activate them 1 by 1 to see if you found it.
Here is a list and small explanation of all the current "code types" supported for the Gameshark. Be aware of the "v" or version types. This list was made by "Datel" the makers of the "Gameshark Products" . It came with the Hacking utility that was available at Gameshark.com. Not sure if they still have it.
