Gameshark Hacking & GT2 Hybrid Cars
In case your not sure what a hybrid is, it's using various parts, engines, bodys from any car in the game to make a unique car of your own. Some parts, codes have been made up by me and other GT enthusiasts. The tools you will need is a Gameshark,Gameshark Pro(best) or a Gameshark cdx. With standard Gameshark & cdx you will have to use "boot codes" i.e. you put them in as regular gameshark codes and it will affect your #1 car in your garage. With a gameshark pro you will build cars through the "memory editor", by far the easiest and best way of building.Through hybriding you can build cars that  can hit speeds of 550+mph. You can also  improve all aspects of  handling, braking, weight, downforce. By "sharking in" new settings you can go beyond the allowable ranges the game permits. There is only one drawback to hybrids. When you enter a race, if you adjust anything in "settings" you will have to exit the race afterwards, then re-enter the race and run as normal. If you try to run without doing this, your car will not run or all your hybrid parts will be removed. Really just a minor nuisance considering the fun you will have with hybrids.

Versions (1.0 /1.1/1.2/greatest hits) To my knowledge greatest hits is the same as 1.2 .
There are now 4 versions (NTSC) of Gran Turismo 2. You will need to know which one you have. These "money codes" will help you determine this. Just try each code untill it works and thats the disc you have. Some abreviations you are likely to run into are GS=Gameshark, either older cart or CDX.
Pro format= With a pro you build with the "memory editor". In memory the values are reversed. I'll give ya an example for the Turbo on 1.1 disc (thats the one I own)
GS code (these are "boot codes") that will affect your #1 car in your garage.

Pro format

If your using a regular shark or cdx once you have an idea of the parts and hp range you like, just activate the codes you want then swap different cars into #1 slot in garage to apply the mod's to any car you own. To swap other cars to #1 slot just highlight it in the garage and then press the start button on your controller.
For those that are lucky enough to own a Pro the garage is mapped  out  and makes building a breeze! All parts and settings can be changed , tweaked with the "mem editor". To see what a complete car looks like in memory edit click
the link. I added 2 hybrids in "Pro" format. If ya have a "pro" build one of these
bad boys!!!
